The Darkest Temptation starts off with an unexpected sweetness that almost made me forget I was reading a mafia romance. The first part gives a lighter, more hopeful vibe, but the second part quickly shifts back into the darker, more intense mafia world, pulling you right back into the danger and suspense. Unfortunately, this book ended up being my least favorite of the series. My biggest issue was Ronan’s treatment of Mila. His actions toward her felt not only disrespectful but at times abusive, and that really dampened my enjoyment. I understand Ronan's character has a darker edge, but the way he crossed the line in terms of his behavior toward Mila made it hard for me to connect with the romance. While The Darkest Temptation still delivers high stakes and tension, the dynamics between Ronan and Mila overshadowed the plot for me. It didn’t hit the same marks as the previous books, and it left me feeling conflicted about the relationship.
